Join us for a Summer of Football

With excitement building for Scotland’s return to a major international tournament, Tennent’s Lager is ready to help fans enjoy a summer like no other and prove that as a nation, Scotland is Made For This.

Tennent's Lager Presents...

5 Million Reasons

Tennent’s has been by the side of Scotland supporters for over 50 years, and in that time we’ve had more than a few turns on the tartan rollercoaster of emotion. This summer, after a wait of 23 years, we’re finally back at a major men’s tournament and the nation has five million reasons to celebrate a summer of football.

Brand new single by Baby Strange

I Want To Believe (Made For This)

Tennent’s Lager brand new advert ‘Five Million Reasons’ is set to the thumping soundtrack of ‘I Want To Believe (Made For This)’ by Baby Strange, which has been reworked with new lyrics to celebrate the summer of football. The track will be released as a charity single, as the tournament kicks off on 11 June, with 23% of proceeds – 1% for every year in waiting – donated to Glasgow Saints FC to help tackle food poverty and social isolation in Glasgow’s East End.

23 years in the making

Relive the joy and the heartache since Scotland’s last major tournament

1998
France
Scotland’s last major tournament, the World Cup in 1998. After an encouraging start courtesy of John Collin’s penalty against Brazil, Craig Brown’s squad were knocked out after losing the final group game against Morocco.
2003
Hampden
Scotland beat the Netherlands 1–0 in a famous win at Hampden Park, but suffered a 6–0 defeat in the return leg to miss out on a spot at EURO 2004.
2016
Hampden
Two stunning Leigh Griffiths free kicks put Scotland minutes away from a famous home win against England. Harry Kane scores an even later equaliser, and the game finishes 2-2.
2020
Serbia
After conceding a late equaliser, Scotland win the penalty shootout to qualify for their first major tournament in 23 years. David Marshall saves the final penalty and the nation goes wild.
